So, as you all know, we specialize in babies, kids and families and we looooove it. Duh. However, we've been known to dabble in other types of photography that feed our creativity (no pun intended!) and we've been doing the food photography for Square One Restaurant for several years now and it is such fun (and so delicious!). We've loved them for ages - their crazy-popular flagship restaurant on Fountain Avenue is one of our absolute favorite brunch spots (the brioche french toast oh my gahhh!) - they have a delicious, creative menu of always consistent comfort food and amazing service and staff. One of our photos of their (oh so good) eggs Benedict was even featured on Huffington Post! So when we heard they were opening a small restaurant/cafe in the boathouse at the newly renovated Echo Park Lake - we were thrilled! It is SO BEAUTIFUL over there since the reno and is an Eastsider's dream - you can jog around the perimeter with the newly installed paths if that is your thing, or hang out in the lush grass or new benches. And what makes the lake even better is Square One's new cafe - the food is delicious and similar to the main Square One restaurant but with easier "to go" items unique to the location. Great stuff you can grab for you and your family to munch on and chill on the beautiful lawns and enjoy the sights. Or rent a pedal boat and take in the lake. Yummy egg sandwiches, gorgeous veggie options (those colors!), burgers, baked goods and of course fantastic coffees and beverages (seasonal lemonades like lavender and blood orange!). Such a great spot - you have got to go at least once, eat some amazing food and have a relaxing afternoon. You'll find yourself craving it. There are even treats and water bowls for Fido!
