I've been photographing this family for years (ever since their first, Max, was born) so I was thrilled to document Stella's birth at Cedars this week. Little Stella's entrance was a quick one, after only a few hours of labor and 1.5 pushes she was here... lucky momma! I told Cindy she couldn't push until 6:48 (sunrise) as a joke but like clockwork she started pushing at 6:48 and Stella was born at 6:50! I should make that request more often... Here are a few of my favorite photos from Stella's birth, I'll be posting more soon after her newborn session so stay tuned :) Thanks to Cindy & Jesse for letting me share these with you...

The birth of baby Lucas {Los Angeles Birth Photographer}
I photographed the birth of beautiful baby Lucas last month at Cedars Sinai in Beverly Hills after being on call for only one day! Thanks baby Lucas :) I got to spend a lot of quality time with this family and they were all so much fun, constantly joking and telling stories while still tending to the soon to be momma. Lucas is very blessed to have such a large family with lots of doting aunties. New dad David kept me laughing the entire time and when it came time to push he was the most fantastic coach. When baby Lucas was finally born he turned into a big ball of mush, it was spectacular.
Special thanks goes to Dr. Rothbart for not only being a superstar doctor but also for providing me with a great birth shot, thanks Doc! I also have to thank Lucas' parents for allowing me to share some of these very special and intimate moments with all of you, thanks again for an amazing experience.
The Birth of Baby Z {Palos Verdes Estates Birth Photographer}
This birth was absolutely amazing. AMAZING. I'm always excited to document a home birth (there is nothing like a woman giving birth naturally to really make you feel empowered) but this one was an experience I will never forget. It was by far the highest attendance I've ever seen at a birth, I believe I counted 19, which made for a really great birth team and quite the celebration! Baby Z's momma but it best... "It was truly a "birthday party," a special way to celebrate our last baby's birth. I feel like the modern city girl who got to travel back in time & to a place that was like a sacred circle, like giving birth in a hut with my tribe around me."
I was also excited to finally get to work with Jodie Myers, a local birth video artist who I've always admired. The amazing mid-wife was Sue Wolcott of Home Water Birth.
